You know you want to whisk away your kids on an incredible, bond-building family adventure—somewhere where you can put your vacation on “easy mode” and simply enjoy one another’s company.
A family-friendly all-inclusive resort is your perfect option! But wait: there are actually so many resort options out there … how do you find the one that works best for your family?
One fantastic way to narrow down your options is to consider your kids’ ages. Some family-focused resorts are best suited to certain age ranges—so you can choose a resort that will appeal to your kids according to their age and developmental stage! To help you do just that, I’m sharing a few of my favorite all-inclusive resorts for families, broken down by age range for your kids.
Let’s dive in:
Best for Babies through Preschoolers

Grand Velas Riviera Maya
If you have really little ones, head to this chic resort in Mexico to ensure your babies are in really good hands. Grand Velas provides ultimate peace of mind to parents of younger children with their baby concierge—whatever you need to make your stay easier with your baby or toddler, the Grand Velas team will make it happen. Through the baby concierge, you can rent strollers, cribs, baby bath tubs, bottle sterilizers, and a whole list of other gadgets for babies—so you can travel light (and not worry if you forget something at home!). And if you want to enjoy some adult-only fun for an afternoon (maybe cocktails by the grand infinity pool?) the resort offers babysitting services as well.

Finest Punta Cana
Set on a wide swath of powder-white sand in the Dominican Republic, this resort makes keeping your kids on nap schedule oh-so easy. Parents can choose the “Finest Club Pool Family Suite” that comes with two bedrooms, one of which is equipped with two twin beds. Here’s the best part: parents can take a dip in their own private pool while the kids nap peacefully inside—the room gets very dark with the shades drawn, providing the perfect napping conditions! I love that this set up allows parents to still enjoy their time while their young ones nap away (instead of having to abandon the pool to sit in the dark until nap time is over!). Like Grand Velas, this property also offers babysitting services as well.
Best for Elementary-Aged to Pre-Teens

Hyatt Ziva Cancun
Once your kids get a little older, they’re generally ready to explore beyond the splash pads and kiddie pools. Take them to this outstanding resort, which features a wide swath of beach that gently melts into gorgeous turquoise waters. One section of the resort’s beach is a tucked-away haven offering more privacy (since it’s not easily accessible by other resort goers); the ocean here is calm, clear, and shallow, making it the perfect place for kids to splash away. The resort also has a great entertainment team at the pool to keep kids engaged and entertained!

SLS Playa Mujeres
Are you more of a pool family than a beach family? Then head to this modern, playful resort also in Cancun. SLS features an amazing water playground area, complete with water slides—this is the kind of fun that this age group can’t get enough of! There’s also an outdoor adventure course, indoor and outdoor movie theaters, sports camps, and more activities geared toward curious, fun-loving kids. And if you do want to balance your pool time with beach time, the property actually does have a really nice beach as well!
Best for Teens

Hard Rock Punta Cana
You can count on a resort brand with a little edge to be a great stay for the teen set. This Dominican Republic resort features a massive waterpark home to a huge number of water slides—perfect for teens seeking some high-octane fun. Hard Rock also offers lots of spaces and activities specifically for teens, like the gaming room equipped to the hilt with plenty of PS5s. The ocean out front of the beautiful beach is also perfect for boogie boarding—keeping your teens entertained while you laze away the day in the sand!

Hotel Xcaret
This upscale resort in Mexico gets consistently high marks for its melding of pampering luxury and traditional Mayan details and a focus on cultural immersion. But what your teens will really love is the opportunity for off-property excursions (all included in the price of your stay!). The Xcaret brand has several theme parks in Mexico, just a shuttle bus ride away from the resort. Your teens can tube down a lazy river, race across the tallest zipline in the Riviera Maya, explore underground caves, and a whole lot more. Other Xcaret-exclusive excursions include a cenotes tour and catamaran cruises to nearby islands.
